The Oakhurst Leaflet is a monthly publication of the Oakhurst Neighborhood Association (ONA). The mission is to provide a channel for communication in the Oakhurst community. We welcome submissions and comment from everyone in Oakhurst and from the broader communities of South Decatur, the City of Decatur, and Dekalb County and offer coverage as space permits in that order of priority. The Leaflet distribution area includes the Oakhurst, MAK and College Heights districts to total more than 2000 households. We hand deliver to these households on a monthly basis, maintaining an unblemished record since our launch in February 2002. Retail distribution includes the Oakhurst Business District (downtown Oakhurst) and our businesses on W. College Avenue. In this way our content and advertisements reach more than 200 neighboring citizens and business patrons each month. Civic distribution includes the Decatur City Commissioners, Decatur School Board members, Decatur Chamber of Commerce, DeKalb Convention and Visitors Bureau, local Real Estate professional organizations, and the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. All back issues have been posted here (see links at right) complete with advertisements. Publication to the website of new editions usually occurs simultaneously to hand delivery. The electronic edition has become a primary source of information for Oakhurst expatriates and for those outside our distribution area. The Leaflet accepts a limited amount of advertising to cover printing costs. The Leaflet is not a revenue source for the ONA. To see advertising rates for the Leaflet, download the rate card (PDF file).
